Raúl Hidalgo is a Spanish photographer based in Barcelona, who always works in analog, making his photos unique and special pieces. He prefers to work only with natural light and he likes to play with shadows to give a poetic or even melancholic feel to the landscapes and people that he photogaphs.

He specializes in portraits of anonymous people and celebrities and for a time, his photographs recreated the world of the night and Club Kids.

His work is regularly featured in publications such as Paraíso Magazine, Neo 2, TenMag, Vanity Teen, Tissue Magazine, Odda Magazine, Dreck...

Raúl is currenty working on a series in black and white titled "Shot by Shot", which features portraits of great photographers and flim makers from around the world including Bob Gruen, Greg Gorman, Jonas Mekas, Mathieu Cesar, Manuel Outumuro, Isabel Coixet, Ali Mahvali, Jesse Frohman, Bruce La Bruce and others…

He also belongs to the artistic duo WAMS, making super 8 films, using experimental techniques. One piece, "Alquimia Del Dolor", has been included in the prestiguous Xcentric archive at CCCB museum in Barcelona.

His new film in progress is called "Poeme" with a screenplay by Mathieu Landais and collaborating artists such as Bibbe Hansen, Michael Alig or David Croland.
